Samsung budget smartphones have not always been the most eye catching deals in the market but with the Galaxy M series Samsung is trying to make their place in the low budget market. The Galaxy M series is Samsung’s first phone with a Notch or infinitive V display as Samsung calls it. The phone has a vibrant look from the front but the back is really bland to look and the glossiness makes it look really dull as compared to other phones in the same price range. It has a FHD TFT bezel-less display with a screen to body ratio of 82.1%/83.6% respectively for the M10 and M20. Talking about performance, the previous low budget phones from Samsung were just sluggish and terrible with users frustrated about something or the other, but with the Galaxy M series Samsung has actually listened to us as the phones perform really well. The M20 comes with 5000 mah battery capacity and with an unexpected USB type C port that supports fast charging while the M10 comes with 3400 maH battery and microUSB 2.0. M10 and M20 come with Android 8.1 out of the box with a refreshed Samsung experience UI 9.5 with some one UI features like navigation gestures, the Galaxy M20 phones have a back mounted fingerprint scanner which is slightly hard to reach due to it’s positioning slightly shifted towards the top. Here’s a detailed comparison of M10 and M20.
While both phones comes with a FHD TFT display the M10 comes with a 6.22 inches screen with a screen to body ratio of 82.1%, a resolution of 720 × 1520 pixels and a ratio of 19:9 while the M20 comes with a 6.3 inches screen with a screen to body ratio of 83.6%, a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels and a ratio of 19.5:9 ratio.
The Samsung Galaxy M10 is packed with exynos 7870 octacore processor and Mali-T830 GPU while the Galaxy M20 is packed with exynos 7904 dual octa core processor and Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. While the benchmark scores weren’t really up to the mark but we couldn’t really say much until we get hands on it.
Both the phones come with a rear dual camera setup. The dual mounted camera is a 13 MP shooter with f/1.9 apperture and PDAF focus and the other camera is a 5 MP shooter with f/2.2 apperture.
